| Polygraph column |
Grasp
of the information point and the excitement point |
||
|
The
information point in the polygraph examination means the key point or
the evidential point of a specific matter. Take a theft case in a
company as an example, the information points include the time, place,
persons, motivation, ways, tools, methods and the objects of the theft.
In a polygraph examination, the information points are presented by
asking the examinee some ‘relevant questions’ and the minimum amount
of the information points are requested in a basic examination,
normally, no less than seven. The excitement point in the polygraph examination refers to the special reaction of the examinee to the information point. As an examiner, prior to the formal examination, you should make out a series of information points by comprehensive analysis, deep understanding of the examinee or imagination of joining the investigated matter. The next step is to edit the questionnaire involving such ‘relevant questions’ and execute the examination. During the examination, when the examinee reacts to an information point, then that is the excitement point, on which there presents the special reaction. Well, since the excitement points appear, congratulations - it is a successful examination project made by you! |
