Pre-Employment Check - A Must for All Businesses

Keywords:  pre-employment, background check, individual/person, public records, history, credibility, crime

Everyday crimes such as abuse, malversation of funds, theft, robbery, embezzlement and other forms of harassment and abuse inside the office is being filed against the court. More and more company is being victimized due to these acts. This can be prevented if only an employer conducted a background check on the person prior top hiring.

Background check is an act of thoroughly checking the character of an individual with the aid of public records as his or her resources of information. This is done in order to check the character and history of a person for evaluation for purposes especially before he can be hired for the job.

Background check is very important to see the credibility of the person who is applying and counter check if the thing he has written in the resume coincides with the background that he has. A background check unravels things that a person wants to hide and does not want the public or anyone to know. When performing this check an employer can see all the detailed information regarding that person such as full name, family and sibling's name, telephone numbers, address both previous and current, schools attended, date of birth, marriage records, and divorce. It can also give you social security number, tax history, previous employment, offenses he or she made. A detailed information on his or her property ownership, credit and financial status, criminal records, sex offenders records, civil cases, arrest and other things that might be of great help in assessing the character of the applicant.

An employer must know these things because once that certain person is hired. He can now have access to the company's resources, he can freely deal and transact with clients and colleagues. They can be trusted with funds, documents, powers can be abused, and they can use your company to hold illegal activities that you do not or may not suspect. This is a worst-case scenario that all employers want to prevent from ever happening in their company. In doing a thorough character check, you can be able to secure the lives of your employees, protect your property, and secure your company. You can also be spared from lawsuits and issues that could put you and your business reputation at risk due to negligent hiring.

So if you ask me if pre-employment check is necessary for all businesses? Definitely yes! After all, this is for your security and peace of mind.
